Eureka!

Ok, so i havnt posted on here for a while - ive been to busy thinking and looking for inspiration.

Regarding the Simulation project i have come up with an idea.
After going to the Sewing Show at the NEC at the end of march i thought i could make a life sized heart from textiles. This would simulate a human heart but i guess it wouldnt really provoke an emotion or fear.

i was going to make an installation using textiles to make you feel like you were inside a heart - however after my tutorial it seemed a bit extreme.

instead i thought about the heart idea.

after making it i found it looked better in my head! so i wrote down all my fears. The top fear is Bacteria and Fungi.

Using a similar technique/style to the heart i thought about doing large germs. i used machine embroidery and used the colours that they look like under the micro scope.

above is the germ Vibro the bacteria that can cause cholera.

The top 6 bacteria

1. Staphhylococcus Aureus - the bacteria that can cause food poisoning, folliculitus, boils, Toxic shock syndrome and impetigo

2. Vibro - raw meat and shellfish

3. Listeria Monocytogenes - Listeriosis, meningitus.

4. clostridium Botulinum - can leader to paralysis. Toxin

5.  Escherichia Coli (E.Coli) - undercooked meats

6. Legionella Pneumophila - Legionaires disease found in infected water
